Minto Terms of Service

Last updated: February 23, 2026

Article 1 (Scope)

These Terms define the conditions of use of Minto (the "Service") and the rights and obligations between users and the operator. Users may use the Service only after agreeing to these Terms. Guidelines, notices, and help content shown in the app form part of these Terms.

Article 2 (Eligibility)

The Service is intended only for users aged 18 or older. Users are responsible for preparing and securely managing their own device, network, and OS settings. The operator may restrict or suspend use if a user is judged to violate these Terms.

Article 3 (Service Characteristics)

The Service is designed for lightweight communication with nearby users and does not provide remote user search. Friend registration is designed around proximity-based flows (Near/QR) and mutual approval by both users. Messages are designed to expire and be removed after a period of time and are not intended for permanent storage.

Article 4 (Location Information)

The Service uses location information to provide features while aiming to minimize data usage and protect privacy. Unexpected leakage, inference, or identification of location may occur due to networks, device settings, OS behavior, or third-party factors. The operator is not liable for damages to users or third parties arising from such risks.

Article 5 (Personal Information Policy)

The Service does not require collecting personally identifying information such as real name, phone number, or email address. Users must avoid posting personal information in chat messages, profile text, or any other in-app fields. The operator is not responsible for damage caused by information voluntarily disclosed by users.

Article 6 (Prohibited Acts)

Illegal acts, impersonation, defamation, threats, discrimination, harassment, stalking, and violations of public order are prohibited. Fraud, coercive money requests, malicious redirection, commercial solicitation, and antisocial activities are prohibited. Reverse engineering, unauthorized access, bot operation, excessive load generation, and service interference are prohibited.

Article 7 (User Disputes)

Any dispute between users, including in-person incidents or monetary issues, must be resolved between the parties involved. The operator has no obligation to mediate, negotiate, compensate, or otherwise intervene in user disputes. Users are responsible for resolving, at their own cost, any damage they cause to third parties.

Article 8 (Safe Use)

If meeting in person, choose safe environments such as public places, daytime hours, or accompanied situations. Avoid contact with minors, intoxicated persons, or users showing dangerous behavior, and stop use when needed. In emergencies, contact public emergency services immediately rather than relying on this Service.

Article 9 (Intellectual Property)

Intellectual property rights related to the Service and its content belong to the operator or lawful rights holders. Users may not copy, modify, redistribute, or reuse content without prior permission. User-submitted content may be used by the operator only to the extent necessary to operate the Service.

Article 10 (Service Changes / Suspension)

The operator may change, suspend, or terminate features without prior notice for maintenance, failures, legal compliance, or operational reasons. The operator is not liable for disadvantages or damages caused by such changes or suspension. Regions, hours, and conditions for some features may be limited or changed at any time.

Article 11 (Disclaimer of Warranties)

The Service is provided "as is" and does not guarantee completeness, accuracy, usefulness, safety, continuity, or uninterrupted availability. Nearby detection, notification delivery, and sync timing depend on devices, OS versions, and network conditions and are not guaranteed. Users assume full responsibility for decisions and actions based on use of the Service.

Article 12 (Limitation of Liability)

Except in cases of willful misconduct or gross negligence, the operator is not liable for user damages. Even where liability applies, special, indirect, or consequential damages and lost profits are excluded to the extent permitted by law. This limitation applies regardless of legal theory, including contract or tort.

Article 13 (Restriction / Suspension)

The operator may issue warnings or restrict/suspend use without prior notice when violations or inappropriate use are suspected. The operator has no obligation to disclose reasons for restriction or suspension. The operator is not liable for damages resulting from such measures.

Article 14 (Amendments)

The operator may add, change, or remove provisions of these Terms without prior notice. Revised Terms become effective when posted in the app or by another method deemed appropriate by the operator. Continued use of the Service after revision constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

Article 15 (Governing Law / Jurisdiction)

These Terms and the Service are governed by Japanese law. Disputes related to the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the court having jurisdiction over the operator's location in the first instance. If any part is invalid under mandatory law, the remaining provisions remain in effect.

If you do not agree to these Terms, please stop using the app.
